Preventative Dentistry:

We prevent oral diseases by carefully examining the mouth for early signs of gum disease and tooth decay. To do this effectively, our dentists and hygienists will ask you about your diet and your oral hygiene routine, as both can affect the likelihood of disease.

Paedodontics:

We want to see all children smiling confidently. Our wonderful dentists are on hand to make this happen. They give child-friendly oral care recommendations and build rapport with each child so that a trip to the dentist is enjoyable and no longer a frightening chore.

Endodontics:

Endodontics involves the treatment of dental pulp. Endodontists save diseased teeth by fighting infection though processes like root canal therapy. Our experts will first diagnose tooth pain, before performing root canal therapy or another necessary procedure on the interior of the tooth.

Restoring Teeth:

Teeth may decay or chip over time. These teeth should be restored so that they function and look the way they did before. Single teeth restorations include fillings, inlays, onlays and crowns. Whole teeth can be replaced with implants, bridges or dentures.

Fillings:

A filling restores a decayed tooth to its former shape and function. The filling material we use depends on the location of the affected tooth, but every filling will look completely natural.

Inlays / Onlays:

After the removal of decay, an inlay may be fitted into a tooth cavity and cemented into place. It is stronger and more durable than a filling.

An onlay is very similar to an inlay, but it also ‘hugs’ the tooth’s biting surface to prevent a filled tooth from breaking. They require less tooth filing than crowns.

Crowns:

Crowns, also called caps, are natural tooth-like covers that restore very broken down teeth. They can be made from ceramic, porcelain or metal, and are matched to your natural tooth colour so that they blend in  with your other teeth.

Bridges:

A conventional bridge is a natural-looking false tooth that replaces a missing tooth and ‘bridges’ the space between two teeth. So unlike dentures, bridges are fixed and cannot be taken out of your mouth.

An adhesive bridge is the best solution when the adjacent teeth are healthy. Since it is glued to the back of the teeth, a crown does not need to be put over the entire tooth.

Bridges may reduce your risk of gum disease, help correct various bite issues and can even improve your speech.

Root canal therapy:

Our teeth contain a network of nerves and blood vessels called the pulp, located in the pulp chamber and root canal system. If a nerve dies, usually due to tooth decay, a resulting infection may cause acute pain and discomfort in this area. Sometimes a nerve dies without symptoms, only to be discovered by x-ray.

Root canal therapy disinfects this region of the mouth and fills it to prevent re-infection. This process uses state-of-the-art technology to fill the canals and to exclude bacteria from them. These techniques, combined with good local anaesthetic, will make this treatment a comfortable experience.

Tooth whitening:

Although our hygienists will remove surface stains from your teeth, you will then need tooth whitening to penetrate the structure of your teeth and increase their brightness. This is achieved by applying gel to the teeth in a custom-made tray, allowing your teeth to sparkle.

Dental veneers:

Veneers improve the shape, shade or position of your teeth. Veneers are very thin laminates of tooth-coloured porcelain, ceramic or special composite resin.

Before constructing veneers, we will help you to choose the smile you want. If the changes you need are significant, we may work with our orthodontist, Dr Heike Börnert, to align your teeth prior to the construction of veneers.
